Downtown Elementary’s Partners In Education (DTE PIE) would like to welcome you to another new and exciting school year. We plan for more great things in store for you, your children, and the staff at DTE! As you may know, DTE PIE was created to enrich the lives of the students of Downtown Elementary School through the Arts and to support the faculty and staff by providing assistance in various school functions.


During the past school year, DTE PIE sponsored various fundraisers where funds raised were used to bring arts by the Brooks Museum’s Art-To-Grow program and the Playhouse on the Square’s play, Charlotte’s Web. Funds raised were also used to improve the sound system and provide refreshments for events like Morning At School, TCAP Saturday and Field Day. DTE PIE parents also sponsored a phenomenal staff appreciation luncheon catered by Neely’s BBQ and pies from PIE.
This year we would like to continue bringing arts to the students, enriching the lives of the staff and students and providing ‘hands-on’ assistance to help maintain an attractive and safe environment for the children. We also want to provide financial and physical assistance with the field development project
We want to continue promoting communication by sending weekly email updates of upcoming events and announcements. We want to provide additional extracurricular activities for the children while keeping DTE an exciting and innovative place to teach.
To help initiate programs that parents said they would like to see implemented and continued by DTE Parents, we are requesting that you join PIE. Dues will enable us to help continue the financing of successful programs implemented in the past as well as contribute towards our future endeavors. At your earliest convenience, we would appreciate your donation of $12 for new members, $10 for renewals and $8 for DTE staff. Cash only please.
DTE PIE cannot exist without you. We need your time, talent, and treasures to provide our school with the additional resources it needs to be the very best it can be.
